How much notice is needed to remove a rented container?

Pickup notice is whatever the rental agreement and local schedule require. Send the request through an accepted channel, secure a truck date and confirm when billing actually stops.

There is no standard Canada-wide notice period for removing a rented container. Secure-Rite currently asks its customers for one to two days’ notice, but that is one provider’s published practice, not a promise of next-day service elsewhere. Give more lead time when a property deadline, remote route or difficult season makes a missed pickup costly, and obtain both the truck appointment and billing cutoff in writing.

Common questions

What buyers ask next

Is two days enough notice for a container pickup?

Secure-Rite publishes a one-to-two-day request for its customers, but another provider or route may need longer. Confirm availability and do not use a provider example as an industry guarantee.

Does rent stop when I call for removal?

Not necessarily. Ask whether billing stops at the request, appointment, actual pickup or yard return, and how a delay or partial period is handled under your agreement.

What should a pickup notice include?

Give the account and container identifiers, exact address, requested window, deadline, current access changes and a reachable site contact. Ask for written acknowledgment and a service number.

What if the container must be gone before a property closing?

Disclose the hard date, request an earlier buffered appointment, get an escalation contact and discuss only owner-approved alternatives. Do not wait until the final permissible day to open the service request.
