A shipping container can be used at a mine site when the mine manager approves the defined surface use under the site permit, operating rules and applicable mining law. It can hold suitable tools, spares or emergency equipment, but it is not automatically approved for explosives, fuel, chemicals, occupancy or underground use. Mine traffic, severe weather, ground support, lifting, remote work and eventual removal all belong in the written plan.
